What is Conveyancing?

Conveyancing is the legal process of transferring the Title of Property from one person to another. The process consists generally of three steps beginning from when you first enter into a contract, and finishing once the transfer of title is registered at the Land Titles Office.

Once this has occurred, the seller (vendor) has successfully transferred the property to the buyer.

What does conveyancing involve?

  • Arranging property inspections such as building and pest inspections
  • Reviewing, negotiating, exchanging and stamping contracts for the sale of land
  • Payment of the deposit
  • Payment of stamp duty
  • Reviewing the loan documents if you require financing options
  • Investigating enquiries relating to zoning, rates and titles, land tax, government and other authorities
  • Transferring the Title of Property
  • Settlement figures and adjustments
  • Attending settlement
